Not real sure how Harrison Brookie talked me into doing this. Thinking back on the asking he did – I don’t think I thought, actually. Yes just seemed to come out of my mouth. I had no idea about anything related to the Alchemy Improv Comedy group – no real experience with Harrison and certainly no clue about being funny. I do confess to cracking myself up on a regular basis, but that has absolutely nothing to do with a crowd laughing or providing good fodder for others to improvise into laughter.
Daunting, challenging and embarrassing. All good words related to my anticipation of this fast approaching impromptu gig. I got my first glimpse of the Alchemy group at TEDxGreenville this past Friday and I promise you – they are extraordinarily funny!
Thinking that I have 5 good stories for this bunch to go off on isn’t the problem. Figuring out how to whittle it down to just 5 will require some work.
Come out Friday, April 6th to Coffee Underground to see this troupe act upon my stories. Jeff Sumerel will be airing a bit at 8pm and my bit starts at 9:30pm. Time for me to truly step outside my box!
