To me, Artisphere is like Greenville’s final hammer blow to the evils of winter. Piedmont Natural Gas Downtown Alive has already kicked off, The Greenville Drive have started playing, the TD Saturday Market kicked off, and now Artisphere. With beautifully crafted artisan goods available and proudly on display in all price ranges, delicious food and beer in the streets and live demonstrations – Artisphere is downtown Greenville’s way of ushering in summer. As if that wasn’t enough, we also get live music in the streets! If you’re smart you may want to take off of work early on Friday because the live music kicks off at 1 pm with local Americana songwriter Mark Webb and the good folks of the city haven’t taken it easy on us for the first day of entertainment. Great talent such as Annabelle’s Curse and Mipso take the small stage throughout the day, and Spirit Family Reunion and Houndmouth wrap up the first day on the main stage.
In case you got stuck in the office Friday afternoon, you’ll still have ample chances for good times on Saturday. Local and regional favorites like Darby Wilcox, Charles Hedgepath, and The Broadcast play the small stage and one of my favorites, Blitzen Trapper finishes off on the main stage. Seriously, check this band out.
And finally, while the festival may be winding down on Sunday, the music is absolutely not. Be sure to check out fun acts like Hans Wenzel (of the Swingin’ Richards), Soulution and Zataban.
Also, fête is a proud sponsor of the music at Artisphere!
