There is a festival just around the corner here in Greenville where your event ticket gets you unlimited craft beer.
For the half of you who already want to buy a ticket, go here or follow the links at the bottom and I’ll see you at Woofstock.
For the rest of you, sit. Stay. Stay! Read. Good boy (or girl).
What’s Woofstock? It’s only the greatest festival celebrating man’s best friend and funky music this side of the 1960’s, and it’s happening Saturday, November 3rd at Watson Field in Greenville.
Proceeds benefit the Greenville Humane Society, and like the historic Woodstock, the first year promises to be a brilliant moment in history. Or at least a good day in the sun dancing with your pooch. After all, what’s not to love about dogs, live music, beer and shiny happy people?
So bring your dog! That’s what this festival is about, and it’s what makes Woofstock so groovy. Just don’t forget a leash. Your dog deserves live music as much as you. Maybe more.
We know all dogs love funky music. I do too, which might explain why I’m so hairy and love dogs. Music doesn’t get any more fun or funky than Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band, one of my favorite working bands from Asheville. Greenville locals Tonight’s Noise will kick things off, followed by The Sound Committee, a local jam-rock band that includes two far-out dudes without whom Fete Greenville TV & local music wouldn’t be as groovy (thanks, Matt Morgan and Marc Gwinn).
Admission to Woofstock gets you a complimentary Woofstock glass, unlimited beer from local favorites Thomas Creek and RJ Rockers, Mad River, Terrapin, Sweetwater and more. It also gets you and your dog in for live music all day. If you haven’t yet noticed Greenville’s food truck sensation, Neue Southern and Asada will both be on-site with some dynamite people chow.
And if you haven’t seen the super radical, hand-crafted “Woofstock Waggin” around Greenville yet, watch these videos, and remember, not all German Shepherds are cops. Really.
Fete Greenville is a proud sponsor of Woofstock 2012 and a proud supporter of the Greenville Humane Society. For more information on Woofstock and how you can help support the Greenville Humane Society, visit www.greenvillehumane.com or www.greenvillewoofstock.com
